Well folks, we had a great run to Vegas Nationals. Thursday morning Jim & Maxine, Nighia & Mi and I headed north for a nice ride to Vegas with a stop at Barstow Station, that was a cool tourist trap, and there were a number of cool bikes headed to laughlin for the river run. We met Chris & Micky on the way and they joined us for the rest of the ride into Vegas. Friday morning we meet at the Stratoshpere parking lot, got registered and just hung out with others as the arrived. There ended up over 100 cars from all parts of the country. I have yet to down load any photos, still learning, but they are posted on the sky forum and on the sky-sol web site. There were some really cool mods, and a couple of V-8 Solstices. There were several vendors with really cool products. Some really great rides were also on tap. The Red Rock canyon, Valley of Fire and Mt Charleston runs were really fun, but the strip run was awesome! 100+ cars going down the strip together was a highlight for me! Saturday night we had a great banquet with some really nice raffle prizes awarded. The money from the raffle went to the make-a-wish foundation. We had a nice showing of cars from San Diego, Steve & Silka, Jim & Ellen, Bill & Karen, Jim & Maxine, and Figure this one out, Nighia his wife Mi and Daughter Nicole came up!

I think it is safe to say that we all had a great time!!

After the Vegas run I Met my Lovely Bride Lori in Palm Springs. She had a conference there so I just went to hang out with her. During the day while she was in meetings, I spent the part of the days downtown doing a one man car show! It was cool to park on the main street, then get coffee and sit were I could see my car and then just watch people as they passed by. I quit counting the number of people stopping, commenting and taking pictures of my really cool car!

After a few days in Palm Springs we headed to Seligman AZ for the Route 66 fun run. We met with 4 other Sky's from Pheonix and had a Blast! There were over 900 cars, every type and vintage from as far away as England! We traveled "THE MOTHER ROAD" for about 50 miles to Kingman, that was cool, many people on the side of the road, waving, honking and cheering us on! Talk about a parade!! Once in Kingman there was a Hugh car show! We didn't park in the main "car show" area, but it soon filled up so we were joined by a bunch of really cool cars. Alot of people were checking out our fine rides! Again many questions and photos taken. Sunday morning it was on the Topock Az again on the old route 66. I wonder how those in the 30's & 40's enjoyed that road, with no power steering, power brakes or air conditioning? Not to mention the steep hillsides and drop offs with no guard rails? A cool town we went through was Oatman Az. It was an old mining town, now a tourist trap but a really cool one. They had Burro's from the mining day's still in the area, that was cool to see.

We will have to make the route 66 run on our own one day, when it is cooler!

Again Photo's of Vegas are on the sky forum and at www.sky-sol.com
