OK, so the weekend didn't go without incident, but even though one of our participants managed to "smash" their front end a bit, at least no one was hurt, and there is one SKY owner who can now justify upgrading to a cool new aftermarket front end for his roadster.
This weekends' festivities included three major events.
FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE STRIP CLUB - The welcome gathering at the Gas Lamp Strip Club included about 35 people who enjoyed dinner together. The "Strip Club" is a steak house famouse for their New York Strip Steak, and we reserved the "Champaign Room" in the back for our gathering.
SATURDAY COAST RIDE - The coast ride left from Jolly Roger restaurant in Oceanside at 9:30 AM, and meandered along the coast ending at Seaport Village in downtown San Diego. The highlights of the trip included a 43 car line-up along "the Strand" in Oceanside, a group photo at the Torey Pines Glider Port, and bluff-view drive out to La Jolla Cove. With a couple of cars coming and going (and occassionally getting separated) along the way, we had a total of 45 roadsters for most of the ride.
SUNDAY TEMECULA RIDE - Our Sunday ride included a photo stop out at the property of one of the Phoenix members who's home burned down in the fires out in Fallbrook, and then we dropped by Kappasphere for a tour of their facilities. From there, we split into two groups, about 12 cars going to downtown Temecula for a walking tour, and another 17 heading out to visit the wineries.
