Holiday Party
December 2014
On Saturday, December 13, 2014, 9 Kappas (5 Sol & 4 Sky) gathered to celebrate the Holiday season. We started in Rancho Bernardo, went up Highland Valley Rd towards Barona Casino where we made a pit stop. Then, headed down towards Poway and into Carmel Mountain Ranch to Vince and Rose's house for a very nice gathering. We mingled by the cozy fireplace and enjoyed wonderful food & drinks. We thank Vince & Rose for hosting such a wonderful get together. Happy Holidays and New Year! See you all in 2015!
Julian Drive
November 2014
On November 16, 2014, 21 Kappas (14 Sky & 7 Sol) gathered for a Sunday fall drive. We had 2 new kappas join our pack! Steve & Kathy (Sky owners) & Cody (Solstice owner). Welcome and hope you enjoy our wonderful group! We enjoyed a great breakfast at "Center City Cafe" in Escondido. Then, fired-up our Kappas and headed to Julian. We drove up Highway 78 and enjoyed some fun twisty roads. We ended at the Julian Post Office for some photos. Some people said their "goodbyes" and others joined the "Eagle & High Point Gold Mine Tour." It was a great time before starting the holiday season! We wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and we look forward to our Kappa Holiday Party and drive in December!

Palm Springs October 2014 |

On October 11 - 12, 2014, our wonderful Southern California Kappa family got together! 16 Kappas participated (11 Sky & 5 Sol) in a weekend filled with fun driving through the mountains towards Palm Springs! We started in Redlands and headed to breakfast at "The Oaks Restaurant" on State Hwy 38. We had a great meal and an opportunity to mingle. Then, got back in our Kappas and headed towards "Oak Glen." We drove through and continued to our next stop the "Diamond Zen Monastery" on Hwy 243. We stopped for a magnificent photo shoot and rest stop. Afterwards, off we went to the great town of "Idyllwild" where we spent time walking around and appreciating the huge pine trees. We continued our journey on Hwy 243 towards Palm Springs and ended at our hotel (Hilton Garden Inn). We arrived at approximately 3:30 pm, which gave us time to shower and relax before dinner which was held at "Acqua Pazza" literally located across the street from the hotel, so no need to drive. We all walked over. We enjoyed a very nice meal. We headed back to the hotel around 9 pm. The following morning, several of us got together for a last drive towards Hemet and had brunch. Afterwards, we parted ways back home. We thank Bob & Patti Brown for a spectacular weekend event! We had a great time!

On Sunday, August 10th, 16 Kappas (12 Sky & 4 Sol) got together for great fun, company and food! 4 of the Skys are new members and we welcome you: Troy, Bob & Patti, Evan & Glenn. We drove through the narrow and twisty backroads of Fallbrook with our tops down and enjoyed the sunny San Diego weather & scenery. We drove for approximately 2 hours and ended with lunch at "Canyon Grille" located at the Welk Resort in Escondido. We are all very excited for our October weekend event in Palm Springs and hope to see everyone there!

America Car Show
July 2014
On, Sunday, July 27, 3 kappas (2 Sky & 1 Sol) participated in this amazing car show and fundraiser for the Center for the Blind. It takes place at Seaport Village. You will find up to 500 cars of all makes and models. From Classics to race cars. There is something for everyone to see.

San Diego & West Coast Kappa Car Club got together for a weekend trip (Friday, June 27 - 29) to Solvang, CA. We had a total of 16 kappas (an even number of Sky & Sols). 10 kappas from West Coast Kappa and 6 from Southern California. We drove topless, laughed, ate and mingled... We visited beautiful and interesting sites. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend! We thank WCKCC for all their hard work and planning! We love our kappa friends!

Memorial Day weekend was a great weekend for a lot of us Kappa owners! On Sunday, May 25, 2014, 9 Kappas got together
(5 Sky & 4 Sol) for a wonderful spirited drive! We drove on Lake Wohlford Rd, Palomar Mountain, Mesa Grande and Highland Valley Rd. It was a beautiful day to drive topless and enjoy our roadsters. We had a very nice lunch at "Cordiano Winery" and enjoyed the marvelous views... We look forward to our next adventure!

Coastal Drive April 2014 |

What a wonderful and beautiful day this was! 80 degrees in sunny San Diego on Sunday, April 27, 2014, accompanied with 17 Kappas (9 Sky & 8 Sol). We had a surprise visit from our long term members Ryan and Anna, who moved to Portland about 2 years ago. In addition, Rich, from Arizona’s Sky & Sol Club joined us for the day, since he happened to also be in San Diego. We had a very nice drive starting in 4s Ranch, drove through Rancho Santa Fe and ended on Coastal Highway 101. We coasted until Oceanside and stopped for a photo shoot at the Pier and ended up at the Harbor for lunch at "The Jolly Roger." We thank everyone for coming out!

Back Country Roads & Highway 94 March 2014 |

We had a great turnout this month 3/23/2014, we had 14 kappas (8 Sol & 6 Sky). I believe it’s been the only time Solstices have outnumbered Skys, or at least for a very long time. We had 2 proud Solstice owners join us for their very first drive – James and Eric. March weather is always funky! But, it was great for us for our monthly drive! We met at 9 AM in El Cajon, where the weather was cool about 73 degrees. We drove east on Interstate 8 and exited on “Buckman Springs Road.” We drove on Old Highway 80 and made a restroom stop at the Golden Acorn Casino. By then, the weather cleared and warmed up to about 80 degrees. We drove to Boulevard and made a stop at the "Wisteria Candy Cottage." Then, we merged onto Hwy 94 and headed to lunch to "Barrett Junction Café." After a nice meal and each other’s company, we headed towards the wonderful back side country roads. We thank Cal and Marilyn for their detailed planning, hard work, time and dedication they put into this drive! They did a wonderful job!

Valentine's Drive February 2014 |

February weather has been amazing - 78 degrees in sunny San Diego!!! Therefore, our Kappas came out to play top down and all on Sunday, February 23, 2014. We had a total of 12 Kappas (9 Sky & 3 Sol). Elle, a proud owner of a 2009 Sky joined us for her very first drive! We welcome you! We started our drive in Poway and headed to Highway 67 and made a stop at "Dudley’s Bakery" where we picked-up lunch for our picnic destination at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. We drove on the twisty, fun and beautiful San Felipe Rd & Montezuma Valley Rd and stopped for a magnificent photo shoot! We thank Vince and Rose for such an amazing, scenic drive and get together!!! Always a great time!
